YOGA: The Journey to Self-Discovery
We are so glad you’re here!
Our mission is to share the benefits of mindful movement, which include physical health, emotional wellbeing, and union with the self and others. Our teachers dedicate themselves to be students of their practice first and foremost, and regularly attend class as well as continued education training.
We look forward to sharing with you the techniques we’ve learned that will vastly improve how you move and how you feel! Browse below to learn more about our Studio.

MEET THE OWNER!
Amanda is the Owner of Steel City Yoga & Barre and is an E-RYT® 500 trained teacher.
She took her first yoga class in college and vowed she would not return. After a few years, three knee surgeries later, and a suggestion from her doctor and physical therapist that she use yoga as part of her recovery, she returned to her mat in 2008. It was there that she found a new appreciation and love for yoga. She found a way to heal and nourish herself, find calmness and breathe. Drawing on both physical and mental strength, Amanda found that yoga is truly the integration of mind, body and spirit. It has taught her to release the stresses of everyday life, and to focus on being present in the moment.
Amanda completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training in the spring of 2013 and her Barre training in the summer of 2013. She has completed additional certifications and trainings in Yin Yoga, Meditation and Systematic Relaxation, Subtle Body and Chakra Alignment, and Anatomy, and Physiology.
Amanda continues to study all things yoga! She completed her 500 Hour Teacher Training with the Himalayan Institute in 2020, and her pre/postnatal yoga teacher training (RPYT) with Jennifer Moore in 2021. Additionally, she continues her studies at the Himalayan Institute including recent courses on Kaya Kalpa (the alchemy of youth and longevity), Sanskrit, the Voice of Yoga, Sri Sukta and Asana in the Hatha Yoga Pradipika.
She is registered with Yoga Alliance as an E-RYT® 500, RPYT® and YACEP®. In addition to her regular classes, she serves as the Creator and lead instructor for Steel City Yoga & Barre's 200-hour registered yoga school (RYS®), a Yoga Alliance Accredited Teacher Training Program.
Amanda is an Auditor by day, and when not on her mat, you can find her spending time with her family and dogs or teaching boxing classes at Fit 4 Boxing Club.
